Dermal fillers are used for various cosmetic purposes to enhance and rejuvenate the appearance of the skin. They are typically injected beneath the skin's surface to add volume, smooth out wrinkles, and restore a more youthful, refreshed look. Common uses of dermal fillers include:
1. Reducing Wrinkles and Fine Lines: Dermal fillers can fill in and smooth out lines and wrinkles, particularly around the eyes, mouth, and forehead.
2. Lip Augmentation: Fillers can enhance lip volume and shape, creating fuller, more defined lips.
3. Cheek and Temple Enhancement: Dermal fillers can restore volume to the cheeks and temples, providing a more youthful contour.
4. Nasolabial Fold Correction: These fillers can address the deep lines that run from the sides of the nose to the corners of the mouth.
5. Jawline Definition: Fillers can be used to create a more defined and sculpted jawline.
6. Hand Rejuvenation: Dermal fillers can improve the appearance of aging hands by adding volume to address thinning skin and prominent veins.
7. Scar Correction: Some fillers can be used to minimize the appearance of certain types of scars.

You may have seen some horror stories in the press about fillers gone wrong. Rest assured you are in good hands.
Dermal fillers are considered safe when administered by a qualified and experienced professional. They have been widely used in cosmetic and medical procedures for many years with a good safety record.
We will discuss with you in your consultation the full process and the aftercare needed to get the results you want.

The longevity of lip fillers can vary. On average, lip fillers typically last anywhere from 6 months to a year. However, some fillers can last longer, with results lasting up to 18 months in some cases.
Over time, the body gradually breaks down the filler, causing the effects to diminish. To maintain the desired results, individuals may opt for touch-up treatments as the filler naturally dissipates.
-
You will notice some immediate effects of fillers right after the injection. The area will typically appear plumper and smoother immediately after the procedure. However, it's important to be aware that there might also be some initial swelling and potential bruising at the injection sites, which can temporarily obscure the final results.
The full and final results of dermal fillers will become more apparent once any initial swelling or bruising subsides, usually within a few days to a week. You'll likely see the true outcome of the treatment once the filler settles and integrates with your tissues. The timeline for achieving the desired result can vary depending on the individual but averages around 6 weeks.
We will provide you with post-procedure care instructions and let you know what to expect in terms of immediate effects and the timeline for optimal results.
-
The fillers we use allow us to administer your fillers smoothly, however a local anaesthetic cream may also be offered for you to use before your treatment to numb the skin making the treatment comfortable.
-
In the days leading up to the procedure, it's typically recommended to avoid blood-thinning medications and supplements to reduce the risk of bruising.
If you are on medication or take the above for any reason please consult with your doctor before stopping any medication.
